Welcome to North of Now: The Thinking Lab Edition
I’ve refreshed this introduction to better reflect where North of Now is heading—more focused on prompts, perspective, and the spaces that shape us. Thanks for being here.
What is North of Now?
Not a productivity blog.
Not a tech hype feed.
Not a nostalgia trip.
It’s a place to rethink how we live, work, and stay human in a world shaped by AI and relentless speed.
No algorithm can replicate perspective.
No prompt can generate wisdom.
Here, prompts become more than commands.
They become conversations, mindset tools, and mirrors.
After six decades of watching how we adapt, I’ve started asking different questions.
Not what’s next?
But… what’s worth keeping?
North of Now is part Thinking Lab, part quiet corner.
A space to collect and share small, steady glimpses of what still matters—like a few smooth stones in your pocket.
Some reflections are practical.
Some are questions.
Some are little bits of perspective I’ve picked up along the way.
We don’t just live in places anymore.
We live in spaces.
Homes turned into offices.
Coffee shops became pickup counters.
The lines between work, rest, and community have blurred.
Sociologists once called gathering spots like these “third places”—diners, barbershops, bookstores.
But today, we need something more than a place.
We need a third space—intentional, human, unscheduled.
I write about:
Prompting—not just how to use it, but how it shapes us
Personal infrastructure—systems that help us stay grounded
Connection in a hybrid world—from slow moments to digital boundaries
Legacy in motion—what we build, what we pass on, and how we keep evolving
If you’ve ever wondered:
What truly deserves my focus and care?
What do I want to build or protect?
How do I stay grounded when everything speeds up?
You’re in the right space.
Welcome to North of Now.
A Thinking Lab.
A quiet corner.
A place for thoughtful systems, intentional living, and a few well-placed “what ifs.”
Let’s build from here—slowly, together.
Welcome.
Hey, I came across your newsletter and just wanted to say it really caught my eye. Thought I’d take a moment to drop by and share a bit of support. If you ever feel like exchanging thoughts in my newsletter, I would really welcome that.
